Every year on August 24th, Independence Day of Ukraine, all kinds of delegations come to Kyiv in order to present together with music and dance groups the diversity of cultural heritage and traditions of their own region in a grand festive procession.
In 2013, "Vyshyvanka Parade" was held for the 5th consecutive year and brought together more than 7000 participants from all over Ukraine and also a delegation from Latvia.
Each year the organizing committee selects a symbol of the festival - a themed art object which participants paint and decorate with traditional patterns of their region. An Easter egg «Pysanka» was the symbol of year 2012, in 2013 the committee chose a miracle bird and in 2014 our participants and guests may expect an all-time traditional Ukrainian wedding.
